Federal Investigation Following Deadly Kia and Hyundai Malfunction

Legal

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration began a probe of malfunctioning airbags in select Kia and Hyundai vehicles last week. Reports indicate that the defect has caused at least six serious injuries and four deaths. The investigation includes approximately 425,000 2011 Hyundai Sonatas and 2012-2013 Kia Fortes. Hyundai indicates all affected owners will be contacted no later than April 20. Kia has not released any information on its planned notification of those potentially impacted by the defect.

Any person with these model vehicles should contact the nearest Hyundai or Kia retailer as soon as possible for assistance. Airbag malfunctions can be deadly. Serious injuries require serious action. If you've been injured, get Gulf South Law.
